Re: To modernize Blitz3D?

I found the SCP source on GitHub so I'm going to try running through my new C translator and see what I get back. :gasp: Nice, I doubt the code will be anywhere near readable though. I noticed another thread about building a MAV-less Blitz3D. Are you guys using your own custom build or was that jus...

Re: How To Edit / View .RMESH Files.

Someone already asked this question (on the wrong subforum, mind you, so I can understand if you missed it) http://undertowgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6068 You can try to view and modify an RMesh file, but you'll need to write some code to convert it to something else or create a plugin...

Re: What program can I use to import or export RoomMesh files aka rmesh files?

I don't have a B3D exporter on hand, but there has be one out there somewhere. Can't be bothered to make or find one, to be honest.

Re: What program can I use to import or export RoomMesh files aka rmesh files?

.bb files are compiled with Blitz3D. You can get it here: http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/posts.php?topic=107434 Containment Breach depends on modified binaries for extra features, which are available here: https://github.com/Regalis11/scpcb/blob/master/mavless_bin.zip . You won't need them for ...

Re: What program can I use to import or export RoomMesh files aka rmesh files?

RMesh files are created from B3D meshes with a converter tool: https://github.com/Regalis11/scpcb/blob/master/Converter.bb . Note that not any B3D mesh will work properly with this converter; it was designed for files exported by 3D World Studio, which to my knowledge isn't easily obtainable anymore...

Re: Scalable HUD in settings

It's on our to-do list now, we just haven't gotten around to doing this yet because spritefonts in MonoGame have a fixed size, and we can't change it in-game unless we change the way fonts are handled in the first place.

Re: WYSIWYG Map Editor doesn't work

The RMesh format was slightly changed around 1.3, so some of the new rooms are incompatible with the WYSIWYG editor since it hasn't been updated for some time. You could either hope that someone will feel like fixing it, or use older versions of the meshes that don't load.

Re: MAV on RMesh Converter

The converter isn't designed to be all that stable since it's just a developer tool, if you want to pinpoint any errors that pop up you should be running it through the Blitz3D debugger. I'm assuming that the reason it's crashing for you is because you're using it on a B3D file that doesn't follow t...

Re: List of (Cancelled) Containment Breach Ports

why bother porting the game anymore Blitz3D is open source; users could dedicate their time to trying to port it to OpenGL or a more modern version of DirectX There are people that already did this The only person that was making reasonable progress in updating Blitz3D's renderer died of an aneurys...
