Amnestics, SCps,.....and a little help?

For discussing anything related to the SCP universe, does not need to be related to SCP:Containment Breach.

Amnestics, SCps,.....and a little help?

Postby Blue Mist 860 » Sat Nov 14, 2015 5:54 pm

Something I'm wondering in terms of the SCP foundation; not in SCP containment breach, but rather the wiki; is what the heck the deal is when it comes to amnestics.

I get that there's a lot of tiffs about what term to use "amnesiac or amnestic", and that there are multiple classes and strengths to them. I also know that it depends on the individual authors writing their head cannons which level does what. Sometimes Class A is the strongest. But for another writer its the weakest in their own headcannon.

I've looked on the wiki at the guide/list of class amnesitcs. If I'm not mistaken the classes were: A, B, C, D, E, and F. And according to the guide, E and F were the extremes in the amnestics. Used to completely wipe and reprogram someone. But what I'm trying to figure out is how they are administered?

For example. Class E amnestics are described as being administered by "injection--multiple stage doses via IV."
But what exactly does that mean? Do they mean that doing it in specific time intervals when they say multiple? Or do they mean that there are multiple IVs instead of just one whilst administering? Or both?

One thing that peeks my interest though especially when it comes to amnestics is Class F. Again it is administered in 'multiple stage doses by IV.' But it is also involves 'psychotropics in conconjunction with Visual/Audio stimuli--based on subjects original psyche and the resulting fabricated identity.' As well as electro convulsive therapy (yikes!).

But the part that interests me about Class F is not only is it in experimental stage in terms of use, but that supposedly there is possible consideration on using them on [b]An SCP[b] itself. It is considered, supposedly a more passive and safer alternative to physical containment when administered to an especially unruly SCP that would otherwise be terminated because of it being too hard to contain.

THAT'S what intrigues me. It even helped give me an idea for a fanfiction. .... which....I'm kinda hoping someone might be able to give me a little pointers on regarding a couple things, like the containment procedure of the SCP in my story. I'm not really all the good at that particular part.

I had a "What if?"/crossover scenario idea for the story and I decided to cross SCP with one of my favorite characters I'm big on lately (I'm kinda going through a phase), Sonic the hedgehog. And I'm not gunning for the creepypasta Sonic EXE when I say that. I was thinking more along the lines of Normal Sonic. Most specifically the "Sonic X" tv show variation of him. But.....how does one "Contain" someone/thing with his abilities? What kind of structure or measures would have to be taken?
That's where I don't begin to know. I'm not sure what's what regarding weapons, metals and alloy structures and other similar factors and what would be strong enough to hold him. A little help on that, please? If you can.

Other than Sonic though, haven't you ever wondered what some of your favorite characters, especially ones with abilities, from other franchieses would do or how the foundation would "keep them contained" if they got a hold of them?

Regarding the whole "is it Amnestic or amnesiac" thing though as I mentioned earlier, I think the whole argument is pointless. It's so obvious. Amnestic is the drug administered. And Amnesiac is the person/subject to whom it was administered to. Why even argue it? Even when drugs aren't involved and someone has an accident and loses their memory, they are called Amnesiacs. Simply put, people with Amnesia. I don't understand what there is to argue about on it on that flippin' wiki page.

Anyways, rant aside. Thoughts, anyone? If possible, maybe a little suggestion or 2 for my story idea?

In this Example, One Set of IV tubes would be use and measured sets of drugs would be injected over and over again over a unknown amount of time. This could be as close together as ever 20-30 minutes or as far apart as one or two a day over the course of several days.

I would imagine this to be like stated above but with an add thought reconditioning element, Torture like Eletrical Wires placed on key points and a whole lot of LSD. Sort of what many people thing of when they hear the term "MK Ultra" where people are forced to see and/or hear a series of Images and sound designed to reprogram the mind to what ever ends they want. All while Tripping Balls and and being given a steady dose of negative feedback for wrong answers if any questions are asked at all.

This is truly horrifying to a lot of people, because it deals with the lost of ones control over their own selves.

Side note: The Foundation is in a Universe where there are very powerful and weird things that exist, and they study them. I would not put it past the foundation to have a small collection of images, phrases and sounds that can absolutely take control by hearing or seeing them just once.

I am very sure there are a few SCPs that are out there, either on the wiki or possibly in your own mind that could be on the wiki. The Foundation some time need to give people a whole new life, and when they can't, they need to make them a total vegetable.

Dark as it is, Some of these compounds where never meant to save a persons mind. Just stop them from saying anything or being a danger to anyone.

If you have a good idea, doing a little research first would be the first step. I've gotten into an argument already about that issue lately and while i have stopped arguing, I feel it is key to a good story. Especially when it's about some thing that exist, or believed to exist.

That said you've taken a good first step. But are you really sure you want to add to an already over saturated realm of CreepyPasta? There is no much of it that your voice may get lost in the Sea of others that are total crap. Because of that stigma, Your while it may not be crap, will likely get labeled with the crap and fade into nothing with out much of a read from anyone.

My I suggest you come up with your own Tale and characters instead that just so happens to have an element or two from the SCP Universe or CreepyPastas.

I would personally like to read about the guy who is hooked up to IV and strapped to a chair waiting to be forced into a Class F Amnesiac injection. All those wires and what not leading off of them but left alone trying to figure out why they are there or what they are going to do to them. You could weave your story into this person last thought as memory flash backs. They don't have to be in order or even connected by very much at all.

Good luck kid. I hoped that help in some way.

Nice long paragraph. So, it could be a certain broadcast of "Sonic X" that induces [SYMPTOMS HERE] and, SCP; It has been downloaded onto a tape with a TV in the room (for testing) and the broadcast is to be off the air. Sound good?

I suggest reading this storyline in the foundation http://www.scp-wiki.net/resurrection part 2 where it says "All This Wandering" it go in more depth of amnestics and how they are administered and also reversible.

I haven't read too much of the Project Resurrection saga/canon yet. But I did take a look at "All This Wandering". I thought it was kinda interesting. Although I wish it had given more detail on the mind altering process than simply sticking the subject with a needle and then jumping straight to the new personality after. At least, that's how it seemed. Maybe I should take another look at it to be sure. But nonetheless, it was still interesting.

I'm still trying to brainstorm on how to describe the process of the amnestic administration as it's happening for the story I came up with. But I'm still a little fuzzy on the details. I know what the main wiki says regarding Class F amnestics, but I'm still trying to figure out how to describe the whole process in detail. The administering via IV, the electro convulsive therapy and the Psycho tropics I can probably figure out on the matter. But I'm still stumped on the whole Audio/Visual stimuli part.

The closest I could find when looking it up online was "non-invasive" AVE (Audio-Visual Entrainment) coupled with EEG (Electroencephalography). I still need to look into it more, but from what I could grasp, it usually involves 'flashing lights and pulsating tones'. Or something like that. Like I said, I need to research further.

However, in the scp amnestic scenario, it would have to be "Personalized based on the subjects original psyche and resulting fabricated identity".
What exactly does that mean? Does it mean using specific visuals and sounds the subject pays more attention to than others, differing depending on the individual? If someone could explain this to me, I'd appreciate it. An example wouldn't hurt either.
