SCP - 173's Classification

Why on earth is SCP-173 still classified as a Euclid. We already know enough about it and every time we try to send those
Class-Ds in they can't follow the instructions and cleanup crew has to risk their lives. Agents never seem to be available.

Object classes refer to the difficulty of containment/the consequences of it getting out. They don't really refer to how much is known about the SCP.

Partially correct, but I know my documents:
Euclid
Euclid-class objects are anomalies that are either insufficiently understood or inherently unpredictable, such that reliable containment is not always possible, but do not pose sufficient threat to qualify for Keter classification. The vast majority of anomalies cataloged and contained by the Foundation are initially classified as Euclid until they are either sufficiently understood or exhibit sufficient danger to qualify for reclassification.

Even then that's not always followed. At the end of the day it's just up to what the writer decides.

Quite simply, it's because Keter is reserved for things that could wipe out all life on earth if they escaped.
173 would probably get snagged by a local government after a few hundred kills.

I doubt 173, even if released, would get around 100 kills. It may move extremely fast, but I think the general public would learn "OH SHIT, LOOK AT THE THING. HE DOESN'T SEEM TO MOVE WHEN WE DO THAT."
