SCP-173

It is constructed from concrete and rebar with traces of Krylon brand spray paint. SCP-173 is animate and extremely hostile. The entity cannot move while within a direct line of sight. Line of sight must not be broken at any time with SCP-173. Entity will attack by snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INGAME

SCP-173 is considered to be the main hostile entity the player will encounter, it will attempt to kill the player be moving into towards the player and attacking at close range, however while being observed by the player it cannot move. However if the player looks away or blinks 173 will move at a very fast speed towards the player.

There is no effective way to halt 173 aside from closing doors to impede it and putting significant distance between yourself and it so it loses interest of the player. 173 will always attempt to attack the player and cannot be hidden from or avoided once it has detected the player.

In the wiki it says that 173 also kills by strangulating, there should be a chance to 173 to strangle you, and a animation of him getting you up and killing :3

Yeah, I think there should be a 1:5 chance that instead of snapping your neck, he'll straighten you towards him and you'll slowly start to lose air, the screen will blur, and you'll die, like that of the 895 death.

After he snaps you neck in that 1-2 seconds you screen blurs/fades to black, 173 should turn around slowly, so he just barely turns when it goes black.

If you are right up next to him, he should strangle you.

It can't move if you are looking at it
If you look at it while it is strangling you then you will be caught in a death lock, unable to move away since it is frozen into a neck strangling state.

It'd be cool if there was a way to blink with one eye separately, so people nagging about doing that instead of blinking could finally realize 173 gets really mad due to it. Cue very slow strangulation and sounds which indicate you're in grave pain ...

Several things to point out with SCP-173 and blinking.

1. Many people simply cannot or have a very hard time blinking one eye at a time, even for a short period in normal circumstances.
2. This is a high intensity situation, this thing can kill you in the blink of an eye. Adrenaline will be very high and mistakes are common. As well as people forgetting very simple things.
3. I did read an expanded fiction that 173 might have a mimetic influence that makes one eye blinking more harder, or words to that effect.

What many people who claim "Just blink one eye, problem solved" forget is that the situation they are in is not a "normal" situation. Just averting you gaze for a second will cost you, and if you can blink one eye at a time how long could you keep that up for? Try it and you will find it to be taxing and require alot of concentration and effort to maintain for an extended period.

Ahem, I might point out that 173 supposedly 'making your death more painful' due to blinking with one eye is indeed not canon to the article itself.

It breaks all established rules and isn't even mentioned anywhere. I find it beyond stupid.

And for the 173 death-choke, as I mentioned, it should be a randomly occurring death sequence instead of the neck snap, it should wrap your arms around your neck and you'll be locked toward its head. Your vision will begin to blur, and the screen will fade out to black.
