I'll post this here, since making another subject with the same issue would be sorta redundant.
I'm having what appears to be the same issue. The game won't start up past popping up a small window and closing it. Now I've tried almost all the solutions that were posted via the thread links and I've had no luck. Turning off read only with the game folder. Setting comparability mode to Windows XP sp2/3, Tweaking a LOT of settings on the .ini file, and redownloading the game. Haven't had any luck.
Now I figure my computer is decent enough to run this without a problem, but just in case-
There are my basic specs. To be honest, I'm expecting a "Tough luck", but I really want to give this game a go.
