ships from ftl [need feedback(A LOT OF FEEDBACK, cuz i need to know how many people are intrested)]

so you probably saw my the kestrel sub. i have ideas for 2-3 fully vanilla ships, but i can't make most of the ftl ships because they have stuff like self repairing hulls, teleporting bombs, anti-crew lasers etc. i could create mod with all that stuff but i'm not sure if people would like to play it. if i will make modded subs with cool features will people host servers with them and play or i should try to recreate these features in vannilla?

I think it's best to make a mod. All of that stuff seems hard to recreate using only vanilla stuff. I'm not sure how some of that stuff could be created, though. Most weapons are easy but self repairing hulls and teleporting bombs sound hard to mod in.

The Kestrel sub is awesome, btw.

self fixing hulls can be achived by making explosion with negative values and teleporting bomb are long railguns with small sprite. when you mod, you have to think outside the box. but question is would anyone bother downloading that and hosting a server?

That's actually pretty clever. :O

Also, it seems the playerbase is kinda small. I'm making a mod and there's at least 1 person hosting a server with it but the mod gets downloaded only a handful of time after each time I release a new update. I also see few servers with actual players in them.

Well from my honest hosting perspective, I don't host servers for modded subs or modded gamemodes in general. Only vanilla as I don't like seperating the playerbase which is usually in my server(which is vanilla.)
I did see some other hosters go for Modded servers, so that wouldn't make your sub 'null' so to speak, but it would have a smaller playerbase than vanilla, obviously.
