Ability to butcher characters

Since characters can be dismember now, wouldn't be cool if we could pick up these body parts and take them to the deconstructor to butcher them and get crafting ingredients for meds and other consumables and the like?

It would be a nice way to get your hands on Velonaceps Calyx Eggs instead of buying them from stores.
This could also lead to a hunger system, maybe and make it so players could butcher creatures for meat... maybe even butchering human corpses in case of starvation. Would make for interesting gameplay. :P

Firstly: this is an interesting idea, as it can make things easier, but twisted and dark, plus, should have a negative consequence.
Secondly: get some help.

I like this idea...very good....

I even good an additional idea, regarding medical attention (atleast at lets say critical status, or lots of bleeding.) : Blood bags (We will just assume that everyone on the ship has the same bloodtype tho, or maybe not).

Essentially fabricated through the remains of your fellow comrades (and obviously available at your nearest Shop, butcher and bloodbank) you can use bloodbags to aid people in need. This could be used to stop bleeding very effectively, while also healing/stabilizing (getting them back to consciousness) the patient.

And if we assume that every lad has either a A,B,AB or 0 bloodtype (preferably choosable from the role preference setting screen), the blood would have to be of matching bloodtype, otherwise it would not help or even potentially harm.

That would finally make our dead, useless and decaying comrades useful!

This is an interesting mechanic but I don't see the purpose of it, really..

1. Cannibalism - not implemented in the game and I don't think many people look forward for a food/water system, however maybe down the line.
1a. Cannibalism is stupid.
2. I don't see how cutting up a dead body will help you get eggs or research chemicals.
3. cutting up bodies ruins the inventory system of them i'd think.


that said, something like bloodbags as frostdemon said is a decent idea.
the issue with that is how we already have medical stuff and adding medical stuff that does the same thing would be counterproductive.

so, basically, there's many ways that this can be interesting and benefit, but I don't think it's on the top of the board of need-to-implement

edit: and yeah, like chikoe said, corpses are useful as distractions
