how do i hide submarine layout like in this picture

The top picture was made on an older version of the game. Since 0.6.0.0 (I think), it shows the layout without any details of what's inside the room. No way to get around it as far as I know.
I don't like it either, but oh well.

It's going to become a server setting in the next major update.

In case you wish to have this on your own game - but don't mind the idea that other players playing with you can see the background walls still, I released the mod below that you can use to replace your los shader:
