Ol Stinky's Subs (BTE sub Updated 1.11.19)

1/11 - Far-Side Station has been updated to v1.1. Also I'm going to be using the "mini" version as the base version going forward with updates since it runs better for so many, but am leaving the original big version up for those who want it.
I added a 2nd shuttle so there can be shuttle chases/escapes, let me know if it causes lag and it can be removed.

1/8 - Another update?!?! Yes! Many were having lag issues on Far-Side Station so I developed a "mini" version for those folks. Far-Side (Mini) has 3 decks reduced, lab is mostly gone, the Stinger shuttle is removed, but the prison/factory dynamic remains untouched.

1/3 and 1/4 updates - I have updated Far Side Station badges/access. Now have updated BTE Capelin to Mark 3.2 with several improvements

----------BTE Subs----------

#1: [BTE] Far-Side Station
A large factory station focused on the use of prisoners as forced labor to manufacture canned meat. This sub can be used for general Sandbox and RP rounds. It also has some additional suggestions for roles/rules aboard- basically with command team trying to get 90 cans of meat produced before prisoners are able to successfully revolt. Totally optional details and some 'in universe' flavor in the lore document linked below.
Just updated to version 1.1.

#2: [BTE] SunStar Mk4
The SunStar Industries Corporate Mobile Facility is an 8-deck vessel designed for extended missions with crews working in the most remote corners of Europa’s oceans, far away from the comforts of any station. A large ship, she has 360 degree railgun coverage and a command center complete with ‘order issuing buttons’ to encourage roleplay by having staff work in shifts, eat, care for prisoners, etc. while on multi-week salvage, ruin exploration, and mining missions.

Seamen actually have a role on this sub! They serve as “Supply Officers” and have fairly exclusive access to a supply room and front office where they can pass goods through a ‘transfer cabinet’ to staff requesting them. There is also a lab with experiment & containment tanks (super-sized version of my Jellyfish ship’s lab), a full security suite/well-stocked armory, and full engineering/crafting workshop.

There is also a prison area where SunStar rents “model prisoners” from Europa’s for-profit prison system for cheap supplemental labor, typically laundry and cooking services via a work release system. The kitchen and dining area is complete with a bar for when alcohol rations are permitted by command.

#3: [BTE] Capelin Mk3.2
Updated with BTE equipment (and now some other modifications & working welders), the Capelin is a compact hunter-killer sub. It is carries standard rounds and a full compliment of C-4 and small arms for boarding actions. It has 4 rail guns spaced to cover all sides. An effective ambusher, her captain may engage in silent running (lowering internal lighting and flashing lights on signs informing crew to maintain radio silence and minimize chatter to avoid alerting a nearby enemy) and turn external lights on and off for stealth and recon.

#4: [BTE] Death Match Arena: Death Pit 1.0
A modified version of Jiren's Team Death Match PVP sub. Key differences are 1) the central combat arena is very different and 2) Demolition class has been replaced with "Berserker" class (which functions like a light scout/melee class) because I found the Demolition class to be a bit overpowered.

----------Normal Subs----------

Ship 1: Jellyfish Mk4
The Jellyfish is a medium sized science vessel with fore and aft guns. It's designed with scientific missions in mind (exploring ruins, recovering artifacts, and experimenting with husks) with a full laboratory and manufacturing suite, which includes a floodable containment cell and locked hazardous materials closet. The Mark 4 has a reinforced hull, a trio of depth charge tubes below, and improved equipment. It has also added a step to make it easier to repair engines

Ship 2: Capelin Mk3
The Capelin is a compact hunter-killer sub. It is carries standard and nuclear rounds; with a full compliment of C-4 and small arms for boarding actions. It has 4 rail guns spaced to cover all sides. An effective ambusher, her captain may engage in silent running (lowering internal lighting and flashing lights on signs informing crew to maintain radio silence and minimize chatter to avoid alerting a nearby enemy) and turn external searchlights on and off for stealth and recon. The Mark 3 has an unlocked armory for easier crews access to C4 and defense supplies, an improved equipment load-out, and some additional wiring tweaks.

For Image - refer to BTE Capelin above, it's the same ship but without BTE features.

Ship 3: Slender Shad Mk2

An "efficiency" model combat sub packing 4 corner rail guns on her small frame. Her layout is ideal for ship-to-ship combat with piloting and gunnery stations placed at the rear of the vessel to minimize the risk of a first salvo wiping out your precious crew. In addition, storage and diving staging areas double as ballasts to keep her as small a target as possible for your opponents to aim for.

The Mark 2 has removed the incendium grenades but added revolvers for boarding actions. This is a TINY ship and should only be used for crews of 2-4 and is intended for ship to ship combat on smaller servers.

Awesome job with both ships, Capelin especially. Capelin is so dang unique, no one has ever done a stealth/ambusher before and this new silent-sonar/radio etc is quite useful in sub PVP. regardless of what mode it's used in, it's an awesome sub. good job :D

Your shad and capelin fit the role in my pvp server excellently, and while the jellyfish is less suited for it, it's pretty much my all time favorite ship. Some improvements I could suggest are making c4 available somewhere outside of the armory on the capelin and move the side guns a bit closer to the ship to remove blind spots.

Hello Ol Stinky,

From December the 6th till December the 21th, the Barotrauma Server community (BT Public 24/7 #1) held a vote. This vote had the purpose to improve the submarine list in rotation at the server, by sorting out the "bad" and the "good". In this process, it was also possible to add notitions for each sub, including yours!

If you are interested, the voting form is still accessible for reading. Here is the link: https://goo.gl/forms/gZhlOYQu8vSBBZKn2

Greetings,

Landon

Hey Ol Stinky,

Due to the current version of Barotrauma having a bug that causes problems to some submarines, mainly affecting the grid, I did a check through the list of subs currently in rotation at our server(s). It turned out that the Capelin MK2 has a problem at the moment:

Capelin MK2 - not going forward due broken relay not providing engines with power.

The submarine has been temporary removed from the list, till a new game update fixes this problem.

Hi again!

Today I decided to take a look at the temporary removed submarines. Only one of them had a single grid issue, a single relay couldn't take the load. I am talking about the Capelin Mk2 :D
I have slightly edited the current version by raising max output of this relay. It will be put back in rotation at BT Public #1 and #2.

Changes are: Edited relay max output.
