Wow, if what you're saying is correct then that means the DLL issue is not exclusive to windows 8 as I thought it might be. If I had to pitch a guess, I'd say you have a dll in your system32 folder with the same name as one of the DLLs used by the game, and the engine is trying to load from the DLL in the system32 folder rather than the one in the game folder and is generating this error because the necessary libraries are not in that DLL file. This is just a shot in the dark though. If you want navigate to the folder "C:\Windows\System32" and tell me if there is a file named FastExt.dll, FastText.dll, or winfix.dll in that folder.

I have a win 8 and have the dlls what is going wrong then?

I found a method that works for people with windows 8, I got mine to work, I deleted the 1.04 patch and redownloaded the 1.05 patch, I right clicked on the scp contaimentbreach loading app and pressed "extract" and since then it has worked for me, I thought I would pass it on so everyone else can try it

I shall try this myself but I am still looking for a more permanent solution for this problem. And see if it may be implemented in the next patch or make a Windows 8 patch myself.

I load my game up, on Windows 8, the launcher comes up. I have this nice, Acer HD screen. I load up the game, press Launch, it doesn't launch. It gives me this error saying "Unable to load 3D screen." What's that all about?

Is the screen part of a laptop or is it just a monitor, and can you give me the specs?

I cannot think of what would fix this, also I would like to record it... I have all of the DLL files. I am running Windows 8, although I have the fastimage DLL. I am gonna remove it and retry. *UPDATE* It didn't work, I redownloaded and everything, but still I cannot play.

HI, I'm new to the fourm and I just downloaded SCP containment breach and I'm getting the "user lib not found" error I have FastExt.dll, FastText.dll, winfix.dll and FreeImage.dll can you please help? I really want to play this amazing game.
