I attempted to install the game and after extracting the files like they should be any attempt to run SCPCB results in the message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application " and the game refuses to open.

Please help, I'd much rather enjoy the game than simply watch someone else play it

Turn on DirectPlay
Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > Legacy Components > DirectPlay
