I abandoned that recoil script, I'll probably do a more better, advanced and usable script in the future.
And about "Jumpscares" you mean flashy images or loud SFX?
Eh, jumpscares are so overrated in horror games.
Jumpscares only do a short and intense emotion, and it's not good if I would use them everytime.(But I don't said that I wouldn't use them)
So I think about players to feel more anxiety than intense and short fear(that is bad for horror games, and even typical crap idea that most indie or even not indie horror games do), only a good way to make jumpscares usable is creating a dark atmosphere with an intense anxious feeling, that will go slowly deeper, and deeper... So player will start panicking and then we can use "jumpscare" in a good way like a loud self-closing doors or self-dropping buckets, bottles, cans.
But we all know that the deep silent is most intense in horror games... Because we are more vulnerable at jumpscares, and that makes us anxious.
