(0.7.0.1) [OLD] USS Cubera (Barotrauma Extended)

#1
Hello! This is a sub I have been working on, a recreation of the USS Cubera. The recreation was inspired heavily from Weeng's Uboat Type VII ( https://undertowgames.com/forum/viewtop ... =22&t=7615 ). Haven't been able to properly playtest it with more than two players.

- I had to gut the manual controls, and replace them with terminals to help with desync issues. You can still control the individual systems from the terminals however. Also the only place with sonar is at the sonar booth at the front. You can turn on and leave the sonar alone, and the other stations will get a slightly worse sonar reading, but it isn't as pretty as at the sonar booth.

- probably close to, if not at feature completeness.

Hello HalfdeadKiller, I have tested your sumbarine and approved it for testing at BT Public!

When I first checked this sub in the editor I was amazed, it's beautiful, it shows that a lot of work has been put in it. I am more then willing to have it on the server, it looks like a submarine and the interior resembles a submarine. There is however one problem, and that's also why I mentioned 'testing', it's a bit big
I will be monitoring it the coming days, just like the SSN Fatboy, it may cause FPS drops at certain situations. It's momentarily on the server, so players may notify me aswell if it causes to much FPS issues. If this is the case, I will make sure to report it you.

Oh and yes, it would be cool if the latest version also comes available to vanilla. :D Even though it might cause to many FPS issues today, the next update should increase performance and might eliminate this.

Yeah, that is the main concern of myself. I am unsure how to improve the FPS issues. I know the 1.3 Vanilla one probably has FPS issues do to still having the manual button controls. The BTE versions are probably a bit more stable. For the vanilla version I'm gonna have to downgrade the latest engine room to the earlier version, and rewire stuff. Might make things a bit better. Also I have been working on another, simpler submarine. Hopefully I can get a newer vanilla version!

Thank you for updating the USS Cubera, HalfdeadKiller!

I have shortly tested it, everything seems to work and in place, until I stumbled into the nav terminal. When I want to activate the terminal, I am unable to detect my surroundings. When I de-activate it, I am able to detect it, but minimal, like it's unpowered. I tried to rewire the terminal ingame but it doesn't allow me to.

Kinda weird. :D

Well. The intent was to use the somar terminal up front as navigation, and the helm for submarine control. However, considering the playerbase, and the text chat system, it was perhaps not the best design choice. I'll pump out an update that allows the helm nav terminal to have sonar and submarine control, and just put a sonar monitor at the front.
