I've noticed with version 1.0, the game is even laggier than normal. I could run the game at 20-30 fps on 1080p full screen before. Now I run it at 10-20fps in 1680x1050 resolution full screen. Even when it's windowed in 720p, it only runs at 30fps when before it ran at 60fps. I didn't consider this...
