I saw the VPU and Torch pieces, I think the mask looks a bit too bare without it, so I'm definitely going to stick them on there. In the 3D View, under Object Tools, you should select 'Smooth' shading instead of flat. Could I see a wireframe, the thing that prevents me from making humanoids is topology, the way you fit together the faces so they can smoothly be animated in a realistic and non-stretched manner.
