I thought of something. Maybe medical doctors could benefit the most from butchering characters, Because they can create chemicals, such as Calyxanide from the bodies of Those nightmare inducing, Flood wannabes, parasitic Husks.
I don't know, just an idea.

Since characters can be dismember now, wouldn't be cool if we could pick up these body parts and take them to the deconstructor to butcher them and get crafting ingredients for meds and other consumables and the like? It would be a nice way to get your hands on Velonaceps Calyx Eggs instead of buyi...

As an alternative way for waiting for the MTF to turn them off, or just avoiding them in general, I believe there should be a pair of wire cutters somewhere in the game.
