Sorry if I came off as harsh. A better wording of your idea would be a bigger inventory. An unlimited inventory just wouldn't work.

They're called mods. Did you read the thing? Mods and "custom stories" are different. Mods are just add ons and custom stories are well.. ..just stories that change the game. Not all mods can be custom stories, yes. Some mods may just minorly change some models, others may majorly change the story....
