Escape From Site 19 - SCP Board Game

Hello! :)

Escape from Site 19 is an SCP Board Game that had been in development from May 2013. It is suitable for 3 to 5 players, recommended ages 18 and up. The best way to explain the game itself is to compare it to a mixup between the lore and atmosphere of Arkham Horror and game mechanics of Activity.

The main theme of the game is a catastrophical containment breach on Site 19. The players’ characters represent characters from the SCP Universe (Foundation and GOI alike), escaping from Site 19 or fulfilling their own agenda, dealing with the dangers of escaped SCP objects.

The goal of the game is to escape from the site, completing various game and real-life tasks tied to particular SCPs, and defeat one of the SCP-001s at the end of the game, randomly chosen at the beginning! I won't go into an elaborate rules explanation as they are still a subject to the betatesting, but that's the gist of it! There are over 350+ SCP objects included in-game, the full list available on our scp-wiki.net thread at http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-679931/ ... -22-7-2014.

As for us, we are a bunch of enthusiastic people that love SCPs and the experiences scp-wiki brought us. Every day we are working on improving the content and soon, we'll share it with the SCP Fanbase. We are currently making real-life SCP photography as illustrations, and holding frequent betatests, after a long time of development.

If anybody is interested in the project, we are almost daily updating our facebook - http://goo.gl/xWZabV - and we'll soon have the project's own webpages.

Hence 18+.
First, thanks for taking a peek!

As for the 18+ bar, the game is intended for mature audiences because of its roleplay aspects and challenging nature. We always had a lot of fun with mature experienced RPpers when DnDing and such. That is not to say nobody younger should play it, it is just a healthy recommendtion.

As for 0012, that is probably the worst card in the game, a relic of the first days of creation (it was the first thing that came into mind when reading 012) and will be removed because of all the lawsuits we'd get. We already got the picture, though, so we put it on our fb as an example of a card. If you have to put a warning "contains nuts" on a bag of nuts, one has to be extra careful these days.

Mostly, it's just goofy / challenging cards, say like 1009 (Having to produce an uninterrupted sound for a few turns - big hit at betatests), 651 (Speak without your lips touching), 444 (Be positive no matter what task you get) and so on.

Thanks, that really clears things up! I'm looking forward to this game, and I'm glad I don't have to write music with my blood.

Yeah, ikr. 012 is a nice skip even though it sort of outlived its standards and this is really the first doable thing that comes to mind. We'll just probably keep it in the manual or something as a reminder of what we were once figuring out :)

So, MC, any updates on the project?
Ah, dang, this is why I kept the notifications on! I thought this thread is deserted, but wanted to update it a bit, and here we go.

The progress is going pretty well. We finished our 5 betatests, got our photo count to 80 and now are updating the list of the tasks (got more than 300 pieces, and not even the whole 1000s covered yet). Just sorting out / fixing the not-so-good SCPs based on what we know from the betas. We're also broadening the list of playable character traits (so far 5 Foundation guys, and 5 GoIs - Manna, GOC, MCD, Chaos Insurgency and UIU).

Michal from the design team just put up a WIP card design with Czech text placeholders. Check it out!
