In this mod, those voices could be the Nightmare forces talking you over (If that makes sense). So what should the hue of the infection overlay be? They are a group of entities that feed off the fears and insecurities of ponies. When Luna became gealous of Celestia, they fed on her in an equivelant way to what's in my story. Eventually, Luna allowed them to take control of her, turning her into Nightmare Moon. In the comics, Nightnare Moon doesn't come to be, but rather Nightmare Rarity.
