What if neck protection was worn to combat the neck breaking of SCP-173? Would it be smart enough to remove the protection before attacking the user?

What if the protection was super-glued on?

(Maybe it can be implemented in the game somehow.)

Ummm... You're in the wrong section to be writing this, but I know that some personnel in the Foundation where neck protection when faced with the Sculpture, but in game? No, just no. That would take away any scary aspect of the game and turn it into "Let's go up to the sculpture and be retards! Huehueheuheue." But, jokes aside, I would understand it if it was a one-time thing, like you get protected against 1 necksnap and then you get turned towards 173 extremely quickly.
So, this is sorta a yes and no kind deal. Yes because it could be a 1 time thing and a rare item, and no because people would not actually play the game, but scatter to find them. Eh, it's really up to Regalis to decide.

I was not asking for this to be implemented in the game, but more of 'how would it react'?

Not in game, but some personnel do when dealing with 173.

I doubt a neck guard is going to do much against a killer concrete statue

Indeed. It does more than just neck snap. It can strangle, or simply stomp on your head with all 400 or more pounds of it.

Like D-9999 said, it would probably just find another way to kill you, concrete punch to the face?.

SCP-173 is animate and extremely hostile.
Object is reported to attack by snapping the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation.
