Draft for an SCP

Ok, so since I managed to get accepted to the wiki, I've been trying to come up with an idea for an SCP (my first two have failed horribly, though consecutively improved). I thought I'd post it here and see what you guys think. Really, this is not the finished product, I'm looking for improvements, ideas, general feedback on the concept and obviously a check for grammatical errors and what not..

Item#: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX is contained within a compound with a radius of approximately 1 kilometre from SCP-XXXX. Beyond this perimeter, SCP-XXXX is isolated by a 6 metre high, concrete wall and two, 4 metre high, electrified fences positioned at either side of the wall. There is a single entrance point from the outside of the compound, marked by two automatic gates. A minimum of two armed guards must be present at all times at this entrance.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a four-story structure, covering approximately 1600 squared-kilometres, located in an unnamed grassland region in the north-east of the Tomsk Oblast, Siberia. The structure bears resemblance to an abandoned hospital however, there are no records of a hospital been commissioned for construction in this region.

The ground surrounding SCP-XXXX for approximately 0.7 kilometres in all directions is completely incapable of supporting life of any kind. This is due to an unexplainable lack of minerals and nutrients within the soil. This area appears to be expanding at a rate of approximately 33cm every 24 hours. This appears to be connected to SCP-XXXX, due to the properties and behavior of entities existing within SCP-XXXX (referred to as SCP-XXXX-1). Any organic object that remains within this area for longer than 12 hours will begin to experience an accelerating process of cellular necrosis, the causes for which are currently unknown. Any biological object that remains within this radius for longer than 72 hours will become deceased. SCP-XXXX’s interior resembles that of an abandoned hospital; ward rooms complete with beds, hospital equipment and specialist facilities such as x-ray rooms can be found throughout the building. The internal layout of SCP-XXXX will randomly change, periodically every 3-6 minutes, with the exception of the reception area located at the entrance to the structure, six stair wells located within the facility and, as far as can be observed, the fourth floor. Stair wells located within the facility allow for access to the first, second and third floors, all of which experience the same periodic layout alterations.

The fourth floor of SCP-XXXX is completely inaccessible from inside the structure. Attempts to enter the fourth floor externally have failed due to a high pitched, monotonous sound emitted from the floor. This sound increases with intensity by 8.5db per second that any living object is within a radius of 4 metres around or above the floor. Attempts to access the floor through the roof of floor three have failed due to the presence of an extremely dense, non-metallic material. Windows present around floor four are translucent and so visual analysis of the interior is limited. Personnel stationed at SCP-XXXX have reported to see ‘dark figures’ moving around the interior of floor four through the windows. Apparitions sighted by personnel appear physically humanoid.

At random intervals up to 5 times per day, the interior of the fourth floor of SCP-XXXX will emit a dim, light blue ‘glow’. During this time, interior alterations in SCP-XXXX will radically increase, changing periodically every 15-45 seconds. The necrosis effect on biological agents within the surrounding area of SCP-XXXX will also increase; organic bodies within the surrounding area will begin to undergo spontaneous cellular necrosis in 0.5-2.5 minutes of entering the area. After 15 minutes, a translucent entity, SCP-XXXX-1, will exit SCP-XXXX via the main entrance and begin to move towards the nearest organic object to SCP-XXXX in an attempt to make physical contact with it. Once SCP-XXXX-1 achieves physical contact with its target, the object will immediately undergo rapid cellular necrosis. In human cases this is followed by an accelerated process of decomposition. Once the target is dead, SCP-XXXX will appear to collect the remains and make its way back into SCP-XXXX via the main entrance. Once SCP-XXXX-1 is completely inside the structure, the ‘glow’ will subside and will return to standard levels.

Approximately 2 hours after this period, floor four will emit a continuous burst of gamma radiation in all directions for between 1-4 seconds. This appears to be determined by the size of the remains collected by SCP-XXXX-1.
