Guards

The Guards act as defense against possible SCP containment breaches, and to ensure D-Class comply to orders and do not attempt to escape.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

INGAME

Currently the Guards only appear in a minor capacity, they will escort the player in the Intro sequence to SCP-173's containment chamber, the player may also find dead Guards across the site, as well as encounter a patrolling Guard at Gate B, who will attempt to shoot the player from a distance.

The Guards will only terminate the player if the player does not comply with their orders at the start of the game prior to the breach, such as not leaving their cell. Or at Gate B where one Guard will fire at the player.

I like the idea of having survivors in the game other than the player: Janitors, other Class-D's, Guards, Scientists and Agents. They didn't make it out in time or complications compromised they're escape routes or something. If the game were to get much larger, dynamic AI would be cool if those survivor NPC's wandered around and tried to hide and wait and other deadly Euclid + Keters wandering around the whole facility map found them as well and a firefight + struggle could ensue.

I too would like to see this kind of gameplay, the game already emphasizes that the player is just some lowly Class-D who has little chance of survival. I feel showing other groups of Guards attempting to fight back or escape would only benefit the game.

I definitely agree, what I think is that several NPCs (whether it be guards, other class D's, or scientists) should spawn at all dead-end parts of the map and wander aimlessly around the facility at the beginning of the breach. Each NPC, when approached by the player, will have a different type of reaction, nondependant of type, they could either run toward the player and attack, or run in the opposite direction, away from them.

Should they encounter an SCP, they will most likely won't survive and their corpse shall stay where they did so, possibly with an appropriate decal. Also, the MTF should gun then down if they're encountered.

I'm not too sure how this will affect the overall preformance of the game, however, considering there's a rather obvious delay when the MTF are spawned.

The way they walk could use some tweeking, as it looks a bit robotic with the way they currently walk.

As Mirocaine said, I like the idea too of survivors walking around the facility and when the MTF has entered the facility, you could see them helping the scientists, janitors etc. get out.

The guards and MTFs should be shorter.

Well, the MTF are right-sized, I believe it's just the Guards who need resizing. The MTF size was or should've been corrected when the player height was.

Hehe, I'm the one to blame for the shoddy walk animations, I tried my best. :P

The MTF should help secure survivors too, it seems complex, but imagine a group of Guards or NTF in a situation like this:

I remember that part, still feel disappointed that they all died before I got to them

Anyway I imagine that the MTF would move any survivors to an entrance area, say Gate C, where other soldiers and personal are. This would be a marshaling area for survivors.

I suggested a room here, http://scpcbgame.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 6&start=30 you should all read it, it's just an example of how the Guards and others could interact with the player.
