INTRO/POST INTRO DISCUSSION

I will open up this sub forum to discuss certain ingame events, and how they could be refined and the like.

The Intro sequence take place just prior to the containment breach of the Site. The player starts in their holding cell before being escorted out by two guards to SCP-173's containment chamber for a round of testing. Upon entering the containment chamber at the request of the Intercom Voice (DukeLovesYou) the site loses power resulting in most of the Class-D test subjects and Guard being killed except the player.

After the intro sequence the player emerges to a corridor, as well as a door that also leads off down a set of stairs, at the bottom of the stairs are a Guard and another surviving personal discussing the best way to escape, if the player does not descend the stairs the Foundation personal are ambushed by SCP-173 and killed, if the player quickly moves down the stairs and interrupts the survivors they will stop what they are doing and look at the player, before a power outage occurs killing the survivors and leaving SCP-173 at their feet.

It should be noted that currently SCP-173 will always spawn at the lower level room, the Gas Mask, batteries and the SCP-173 Document can be found there.

But before I start, are you able to implement cutscenes?

While I highly doubt anybody is going to agree with me or support going back to an earlier version, I'd like to point out that I actually liked the original intercom voice to the current.

well, i just thinking of a new intro to know more of "Backstory" of D-9341.. to know more of his past before site Containment breach..

I'm not against the idea. But honestly, I like D-9341 better as a silent, nearly featureless vehicle for the player, and nothing more. I prefer playing horror games that put you on the spot.

Agreed. But maybe the game can start out with a nightmare you are reliving as D-9341 of when you committed the heinous crime that got you as a D-class member. Then you would wake up with blurry vision in a cell, which makes you fully realize that you are playing as an inmate. This intro is both not too revealing and perfect for creating a macabre mood to start off the game.

I like that idea!

That, or the popular notion of being visited in a dream by 990. Or both!

I had this idea for a while.

D-9341 sleeps and dreams, in a dream appears SCP-990. He tells to D something, like for example: Wake up, wake up... I am your dream... This is dreamworld... Soon, you will encounter an event you've never seen it before.

A jeep drives and then the other Class-D wakes 9341 and says “Hey, wake up dude! We arrived.“ Then MTF says “D-9341 Move up or you will be terminated.“ Then you begin to control 9341. You walk to Foundation entrance and then to your cell. You. go to bed, a day passes and when it passes and you hear an MTF talking to Class D in other cell and shoots for not listening.And it's the original intro sequence. So? Thoughts?

I quite like this idea, however I believe it could come off as cheesy if not done perfectly. Perhaps you could be in the back of a police car, and suddenly the dream guy (forgot the number) appears in the seat next to you. After a quick conversation the screen goes black and D-9341 wakes up in the back of the jeep breathing hard or something. That'd give the player some very vague background knowledge of our poor D class protagonist. Also nitpicking here, I don't believe the MTF would have anything to do with D class transport, that's more of a security thing. Perhaps a new, less armored model would be used (think more mobile, less soldierish). I dunno just tossing ideas around.
