I don't see why not. Just use an NPC and re-texture, then have them pop up near 008's chamber. It would make sense, but I think this idea got shot down before. Not sure.

It's pointless. They would operate almost identically to 049-2, and would serve no real purpose.

No purpose other than making 008 have a purpose. Otherwise, SCP-008's chamber will remain a gravemark labeled "useless, don't enter" unless you want to get killed on purpose.

If the other SCPs serve no purpose, then there would be no point to the game. Come to think of it, the game is losing its point.

But seriously, what else could you possibly do? I could think of the gas not just spreading out of the chamber, but through the ventilation and outside. Some moments, the player wold be walking and BAM, a duct would shatter open and gas spreads out. Minor scare, and player walks around it or risks infection.

I wasn't saying that every SCP doesn't serve a purpose. I was talking about those that really don't serve one. Like SCP-012, SCP-294, SCP-500(to an extent), SCP-1025, and SCP-895.

Those SCPs who have no point in the game, they could be pretty expanded or more detail what is mentioned in articles.

And 008 has no purpose to be ingame, aside with 049-2? Ridiculous, just ridiculous... Why not have them...? Some of personnel could be infected if they catched 008 and then w- Oh wait, when breach started, 008 wasn't still broken out. I see now. But what it would be if we can change the 008 infection cycle? I mean, when you enter 008, you can see 008 breached and you could see an infected body and then it wakes up, starts chasing you. Infection starts if 008-1 infected will infec you or attack you.

Meh, this is a bad idea. Tell me if not.

I still say that while crude in comparison to Regalis' implementation of 008, my mod version is best regarding usefulness; it forces you to go through the room in order to get the hazmat suit. I was planning on adding another room where the hazmat suit was needed (a sewage tunnel or that fungus SCP), and it would require you to go through 008 in order to venture in.

Perhaps if there were SCP-008 zombies, it would require you to enter that room to get the hazmat suit to protect you from infection (i.e. you can get killed by them still but the hazmat suit will protect from infection).

It's not entirely useless, there is a level 4 keycard that you can upgrade to from the level 3 needed to enter.
