radio not working

when i picked up the radio, it didn't display anything and it only played static, i could not select a channel.

You need to insert batteries first. The radio itself is unpowered when you first find it.

He said he heard static. That probably means the radio was working, maybe because he refined it or he added the batteries already.
I have the same bug.
