I'm still trying to make logical sense of this though? Bug or not, at this point.

SCP-173 spawns in each room that he is scripted to spawn, such as the gas catwalk and the lockrooms. You could be staring at him, walk through the door, close it STILL STARING AT HIM, turn around to see it's a gas catwalk, walk to the end and see him there, or even just continue staring at where you closed the door while walking backwards, only to get your neck snapped by him. It really makes it seem like there are multiple SCP-173's, even though it is only the one.

It is fully known that 173 travels through the vents.

Actually, if he's following you he won't despawn, if you lead him to a different lockroom he won't despawn and there won't be another one in the room, it's only if your 2 rooms away he'll despawn.

I've walk through doors having 173 on the other side, turn around, then see him on the monitor or at the end of a catwalk. He can spawn basically whenever and wherever he wants.
