SCP-173 reappearing after being locked up

I was able to lock SCP-173 into SCP-914's room that requires a keycard, and thus couldn't escape even when I turned my back on him.

However, when I entered this room, you can clearly see that concrete-textured, head-snapper on the left

Is this a bug?

You're not supposed to be able to lock him up. He's also not supposed to enter 914s room, so there's the real bug. Canonically, he travels through the air vents though.

Does 914's room have any vents?

I know this isn't canon. However, SCP-173 is not supposed to appear in SCP-914's room.

If you're suggesting that 173 traveling via air vents isn't canon, it's pretty quite simple. He does. Otherwise, there's no real way he can enter in certain rooms, such as the small testing room with the glass pane. And most noticably is the fact that there are vent covers lying on the ground wherever he spawns in these rooms. There are misplaced vent covers in both lock rooms, and the testing rooms and they won't appear it he's not in the room. All evidence pretty much points to 173 escaping through the vent systems, I don't see how it isn't valid.

You misunderstood me. I meant that escaping from SCP-914's room wasn't canon.

Ah, it was somewhat hard for me to understand what you said there.

Yeah, I was saying that I lured 173 out of the room pictured above and into 914's room. But then when I went back to the room pictured above, he was still there.

It's not a bug. It's just a preset spawning area for SCP-173. There are many like it. I got a seed once where he kept spawning back and forth between that red lockroom with the timed doors and the gas-filled overpass. It was scary as shit...

Wait no, this is pretty simple. 173 despawns after you go away for 1 or 2 rooms, and if you get to a possible spawn point for him he just disappears and goes there. Kind of awkward when you walk into a lockroom with 173 on your tail. Not a bug, just the spawning system.
