Earning credits even though you died??? Why?

From what i understand if you successfully do a mission IE: killing a tiger thresher and then you and everyone on the sub die, you still get paid. What? From my understanding this is intentional which i find very weird considering everyone is dead so no one can claim the credits for themselves. So maybe this shouldn’t be a thing

Okay cool i wasnt sure if it was a bug or purposely done because on the legacy multiplayer if the traitor killed his target and everyone then died it had a message saying how while everyone died the traitor still succeeded
