Steering without Sonar

Ever got that feeling that...
'Damn, I wish I could just steer clear of these monsters, too bad they can hear/sense/feel/smell us because of... sonar(ok that was a bad example, but you get the point, right?), similar to my collaboration post for 'seeing railgun shells in flight on sonar', this is for the ability to TAKE AWAY sonar, and perhaps steer... blindly/through the front of the submarine to avoid #specific# monsters that you don't want to fight.

This is entirely possible, you can turn off the sonar and steer blindly (or using the windows/cameras/whatever). The monsters will also be less likely to hear you, although the engines and the reactor still make enough noise to alert them if you get too close. And most monsters will still be able to visually detect you (excluding the ones without eyes).

There's also a console command that allows you to see the sound and visibility ranges: try entering "debugdraw" and "showaitargets".

Oh, alright.

Thanks for the information, always the little mechanics like this that make a game so much more amazing.
