Submarine Physics

I think it would be cool if submarines could tip and spin out of control if there is enough damage or something like that. Maybe there could be a module that stops tipping with a mini-game. Thank you for reading this. :D

That's basically impossible without redoing all of barotrauma. I'm pretty sure that barotrauma's physics assume that things cannot rotate, you could as well be asking to add a third dimension to the game.

I think that would be awesome since you could add another level of panic to a crashing sub. However I don't think it could be added without changing the ways submarines work entirely.

it wouldn't be THAT hard, it would require some effort(like any other feature) but you wouldn't have to remake the whole engine, juan confirmed that himself. they are not adding(i think) because 1. they have other priorities at the moment and 2. why? other than a cool gimick what pourpose it will server? after couple of rounds it will just get anoying

Yeah, it wouldn't require redoing the entire engine, but it'd still be a huge amount of work due to how the structures, hulls, items and such are implemented. They're all defined as axis-aligned rectangles, and there are tons of systems in the game that assume that rooms, walls and everything are axis-aligned.

While it might be possible at some point in the future, at this point of development I don't see it as something worth implementing considering the amount of work it'd take and how little it would offer to the gameplay.
