Yes, but I don't really like the first aid kit idea. You should walk worse and see less (or similar), but not be able to cure yourself using only a first aid kit.
Here's my idea:
If you're shot you walk/see/talk like a shot person. And that's all. This will make the game and the MTF's scarier (in my opinion): you'll be a prey trying to scape from your predators (the MTFs). I think this would be a very creepy and tense moment.
