SCP:CB and Half-Life Similarities

#1
After replaying half life 1 I noticed that SCP:CB and half life share some similarities.

Shortened version of the half life plot:

You work in a fictional research facility that specializes in anomalous materials.
One day the scientists decide to experiment with anomalous materials.
Since you are the player you are the one going inside where the teleporter is and you have to add a weird crystal to an energy beam.
Everything goes wrong and the entire facility goes to shit.
Monsters break out.
Your goal is to make your way through the facility alive.
After some time a task force is sent to eliminate all signs of the incident.
You travel to another dimension to kill some weird flying fetus.
You can get 2 endings, one in which you die and the other is you survive.

Plot of SCP:CB :

See the similarities?

I also noticed that half life and scp:cb share an alike building design.

Black Mesa entrance to one of the labs:

Gate-A :

The similarities are tiny but they are there.

To sum up here are some similarities I found:
Both horror games
Both set in a fictional research facility
Both facilities specialize in anomalous materials
Both games have 2 endings, one death and one survive
Similar 'dark' level layout
Both made their creator 'famous' :D

Any opinions or other similarities?

InnocentSam wrote:I half-agree and half-disagree. Yes, the plots are different, but the way the facility is structured isn't wholly different. This is based on screenshot only opinion, mind; I've never played the Black Mesa mod, and only played 5 mins of Half-Life before getting boredom-overload.
So you only played for the first 5 minutes which is the only time in the game where absolutely nothing is happening (except that one moment where they are talking to you about radiation safety, Meanwhile driving you near radioactive materials, lol).

I have noticed the similarities between these 2, no wonder people are asking for guns in this game now that I think about it. While their plot and objective are similar, they are still much different.

just kidding
For MTF? Of course :D
I hope not, with that SPAS-12 there wont be a chance of surviving a shot from them like there is now. Oh god, what if they got their hands on a M60 or RPG!
