Agreed. Keep doing what you do best Regalis.Glitch wrote:I'd just continue with the B3D version and see how the others turn out.

Why must I be so nitpicky.
I'm not here as much right now, mention me on our Discord server if you need anything.

#353Huh, I was always under the impression that Alpha was the stage where the game is still growing, and that Beta is the complete release (around v1.0 in this case).Glitch wrote:If you read my old signature, you'd know this game is already beta.Omniary wrote: at least reach beta before you deci

Oh well, my mistake.
It slep time bunner.
Re: Dev Topic #3
#354It's an alpha version, a beta version is a final version that just needs bug fixes and the current version isn't final (there's some new content being worked on); an alpha version may be public too.Omniary wrote:Huh, I was always under the impression that Alpha was the stage where the game is still growing, and that Beta is the complete release (around v1.0 in this case).Glitch wrote:If you read my old signature, you'd know this game is already beta.Omniary wrote: at least reach beta before you deci

#355Yeah, I'd just reccomend this honestly for now. We'll start posting screenshots soon, we're making progress and still chalking out what needs to be redone and how it will be done.Regalis wrote:I don't know, maybe I should just keep making the B3D version and wait to see how the ports make progress. I guess the new content in the B3D version can be ported to the new one if any of the ports are successful.

Yay, can't wait to speculate for more SCPs. I remember when you were posting about 049 on the Dev Topic #2 thread a while before 0.7. My suspicions were all too correct.Mirocaine wrote:-Did you get that download message I sent you?? It still has that new "Item" you said you wanted. Re: Dev Topic #3
#357Alpha is testing among devs. When the public gets hold of it, it becomes a beta.

Alpha: In this stage you have a working script, but it probably still has lots of bugs that need to be worked out. You might not have all your features yet, but the core of the program is running and can be tested extensively.
Beta: In this stage the program is near completion. All of the features are working and the software is often opened up to the public to test. There may still be some bugs that need to be worked out that may not have shown up in alpha testing.

Re: Dev Topic #3
#359All this talk of alpha and beta releases are all well and good but that was before we had kickstarter and Minecraft. Minecraft showed us that releasing a game during alpha stages is actually quite profitable, and kickstarter fed this belief.
In other words, the definition of alpha and beta stages in game development is going to change rapidly over the next few years, thanks to the boatload of Indie games we have

#360Yeah, Minecraft pretty much redefined 'Alpha' and 'Indev/In-Development'.InnocentSam wrote:All this talk of alpha and beta releases are all well and good but that was before we had kickstarter and Minecraft.
