Pretty much this. If you get a bad seed or one that spawns 914 really far away batteries are a life saver. Also, more items may be added to the game that require batts, but only time will tell :?

1. The S-NAV is pretty much useless, unless you put them in 914 to detect SCP's, they are useless

It really isn't. If people knew how to use it, maybe it wouldn't be considered useless. It also helps tell which rooms are dead ends.
