This is best. Bringing back what Cridone suggested...
Cridone wrote:Somebody said something about difficulties
There could be 4 difficulties
  • Safe (easy)
  • Euclid (Normal)
  • Keter (Hard)
  • [REDACTED] (Nightmare)
Each difficulty could change the game in some way.
It could be possible to make each difficulty differ in some way.
Cridone wrote:

Something like "No MTFs may spawn" or longer spawn times on The Old Man and less chance of The Sculpture being in lockrooms and the like.
Cridone wrote:
  • Euclid (Normal)
Pretty much standard mode. Default MTF spawn and SCP spawns.
Cridone wrote:
  • Keter (Hard)
Saving disabled, as it currently is.
Cridone wrote:

Sweet...sweet...Nightmares...

Ahem, sorry...

Limited pause time, and maybe some other things, such as inventory is in real-time (Which means the game is not paused while in your inventory) or maybe denser camerafog which means even darker rooms. And if something like The Sculpture or The Old Man is ahead, you'd hafta get rather close to realize that. Maybe also disable the generic ambience as well. I remember on some videos of SCP-087-B, some people would react when the ambience stopped suddenly.

I think the difficulties are fine the way they are. Having an easy difficulty seems pointless, mostly if it consists of some of the enemies not spawing. Taking away the enemies in a horror game is stupid, because what else are you going to do? Wander around until you find the exit?
So does [REDACTED] mode. Just adding a few things like more fog or increased spawn rate isn't enough for an extra difficulty. Mostly if you consider that the spawn rates have been set because they would otherwise mess everything up.

I do think though, that the STOP HIDING message should only be on keter mode. Seeing as if it the difficulty that is supposed to make you bend over.

Then reduce the spawn rates of the SCPs.

Perhaps you forget this is a survival horror game? The only other option to make a difficulty would be to drop another 20 enemies into the game all at once, and we definitely don't have that luxury. There's pretty much only one difference that separates Euclid from Keter mode; the ability to save. Adjusting the environmental perception as well as the ability to freeze the game through some circumstances can mean a more immersive mode. Besides, it doesn't have to be EVERYTHING I suggested, it can be a combination of any.

No, I'm pretty sure I remember since I mentioned it on my previous post.

That's the reason why we shouldn't put other difficulty options. If the only thing you have to add a different difficulty are just some spawn changes and things like then you shouldn't make a new difficulty setting. It would be like some current FPS games in which the only change is more damage resistance for enemies, and less damage resistance for you. It is pointless. A good difficulty setting would make the player have to play differently in order to succeed. Take Metro: 2033 for example. The harder the difficulty, the less health you and the enemies have, and the less ammo there is; which means that you will have to take a more cautious approach when taking down enemies. Or Dishonored. Augmenting the difficulty means that enemies are more aware, you have less health, and there are less vials, which makes you take your stealth more seriously. If the change in difficulty is just a gimmick like different spawn rates or change in fog to make you die more, then it is not needed.

I still think STOP HIDING should be removed entirely.

The pause menu is there for a reason, for someone to pause.

This feature is basically flipping them off.

Well, half of the SCPs are pretty much flipping them off as well.

I still think it should only be on keter difficulty. After all, that difficulty is pretty much asking you to bend over already.

Regalis wrote:I did some changes to it, and how it works now is that it only happens once per game, and the menu closes one second after you pause but only if you are right next to SCP-173 or SCP-106.
So someone pauses the game, and the pause menu closes almost immediately, after which it can be used normally.

Are you just posting for the sake of posting? Regalis has already changed it.
