Maybe give them this new hope, and then snap the hope with one small event, like an SCP-106 attack. Think about it, you are all hopeful with an ally you spent ages finding, and then BOOM! They are taken away by the old man. It would give you a sense that you all you do can be undone at a moments notice, and you can never be sure that you are going to survive.

I think if many this sense of hope could maybe be prolonged, making really think he's safe, and then do something about it.
More hope means more devastation, sounds good to me.

NPCs dying in gory ways are so cliché. Something like a scientist behind a glass wall giving instructions where you have to find this and that item, then come back to him for more instructions on how to combine them, would be more interesting. And janitors or other test subjects who walk next to you.

Uh huh, that's the idea. I'd love to see some of those added in 1.5, if it ever happens

Absolutely yes. They probably wouldn't give the player any more feelings of "hey im safe with this guy" if they only cared about their own survival and probably left you the moment you completed whatever they asked you for.

Thinning out the current human model we have a bit and giving it a few more slight curves + different texture would probs do it.
Does anybody else dislike the current human models tho? They look so out of place with the rest of the humanoids, MTFs, guards, 106, 049... Like if they had been pulled of from GTA SA or something lol

Maybe some random spawning guards (1 or 2) you find them and they would lead you to a room acting like they are an ally and proceed to kill you right then and there so the player would lose their sense of hope with the fact that everyone including the scp's will attempt to kill you.if the player happened to get away from the crazy person they would be injured and would need to find first aid.

Feel like you should be able to visit the Class-D's cell area and see some dead Class-Ds or maybe some alive who are too scared to move.
