I have: Windows 8.1
Gtx 660 graphics card,
amd fx 8 core processor,
and 12 gb of ram.

I get about 25-30 fps most of the time. (it sometimes goes down to 10-15)

(I also did some research and read that Blitz3d only allows windows 8 to go to 30 fps at maximum)

I found this on another thread:
juanjpro wrote:It used to run at 50 FPS without the FPS limit. Here's the modified source code, I also added this dll, which may or may not help with performance issues on Windows 8 (I'm not sure of what it does, and I don't have Windows 8 so I can't test it). Some bump mapping bugs have also been fixed, the game doesn't crash anymore and they look a bit better than v0.9.3.

Edit: For all Windows 8 users who see this: please download this and test it, and tell me if there are any performance improvements
I have Windows 8.1 and this increased my performance from 10-20fps to 50-60fps.

I tried using that modified source code, but it did nothing to increase my fps.

My system specs are:

Intel Core i7-3630 - 2.40 GHz
8 gb de ram
Windows 7
Intel HD Graphics 4000

Now that I saw what my graphic actually is I suspect that's the reason the fps is so absurdly low. Goddamnit.

An integrated GPU? Yes, that's probably the cause. Never NEVER buy a computer with an integrated GPU.

Edit: oh it's a laptop, nvm

The game worked fairly well for me when I used the integrated GPU.

SCP-860-1 is terribly inefficient so I'll make an improved executable, hopefully that helps.

I didn't know it was a laptop, I've checked your GPU specs and they aren't bad, you should be able to run the game with a decent frame rate

No idea :/

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz
2 GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 240GT
Windows 7

Was getting pretty good fps in past updates, if i remember right i was capable of recording with fraps still getting 40 fps when configuring it right. Now i'm getting 20 FPS most of the time without recording.

Intro room and 860 especially smack my framerate.

How frustrating.... my family's desktop pc runs it fine and it's a worse machine than my laptop =/

Well, hopefully tomorrow's bugfixes will improve my fps.

Do older versions still work properly for you? I could check the code to find any major differences between old versions and new ones to find and fix this problem, but I need to know where to look first. Which is the latest version that works for you?

I only played one or two versions after 0.7, (0.8 and 0.9, I think, and I can't find a download link for any versions after 0.7.2 so I can't test this properly) but I remember they had very low fps, same as now (lowest I ever got was 5, highest was 20 and only for, like, 2 seconds). 0.7 played fine most of the time (fps between 20 and 30), but would sometimes drop to less than 15, depending on the room and events (more than one npc around, for instance).
