Not sure if this is a topic of any significance...

I was reading through the official game wiki on the 'Main Menu' page, and as I reached the bottom of the page, under the 'SCP-990' section, I came across this line of text that apparently pops up every now and then:

"It will happen on 8 January 2015"

I checked the date - it's exactly today (or a few days ago, depending on when this post is being read...). I was wondering if this line of text had any significance? Like, if something big is/was going to happen today?

(Something maybe worth mentioning, I also checked when the article was last edited, which was all the way back in August, so...?)

I could be wrong. It may just be to get people anticipating something that's not going to happen :/ but I'm just curious.

It's simply a reference to SCP-990's loading screen in-game. One of the random lines that can pop up is "It will happen on ______", and it's programmed to use the current date the computer is set to.

i.e. Tomorrow it will say "It will happen on 9th January 2015", and so on. It's believed to be a fourth wall trick; the 'it' in question being the containment breach the player is trying to survive, as if it's taking place in the present day.

Ah, that makes sense now thanks for clearing that up for me

(I just checked the logs for the 'Main Menu' article in the wiki - that line of text was set to follow my computer's clock, so it would read the current time. It threw me off when it said today's date )
