I haven't played scpcb for quite a while now, but from what I remember, I had to download a new one every time an update came, which clogged up my (now-dead) laptop, I wanted to ask if this has changed or I still have to download a new version every time.

Nope, no updater as of right now, you'll still have to redownload the newest updates everytime one gets released, patches however, can be applied to the latest main version of the game, e.g. if you downloaded V1.3.0 before V1.3.1 came out you can simply download the patch seperatly and apply it to V1.3.0. But I guess you can simply delete the old version once a new one gets released, that'd stop your computer from clogging up.

Thanks. I think patching it myself would be too tricky as I have no experience in coding.So I'll just download and delete.

You don't have to patch it yourself, you just download the newest patch seperatly and drag the stuff inside of it into your regular SCP:CB folder.
