Yeah i know the obvious flaws about the shortness of the SCP, so I'll work on getting him taller and a bit thinner. Should I scrap the feet? Or the ribs that are showing on the chest and make him smooth surface all around? Let me know what you want me to change.

Keep in mind that this is my first model, so flaws are expected

Yes, you should do all of these in my opinion.

You know the article does not say very much about what 650 looks like so that actually opens a lot of possibilities. I personally think you should try to make it as artistic and unique looking as possible while still making it true to the article. See what you can do to make it creepy.

The default posture while under observation has the statue reaching upwards, head tilted as if facing the sky.

It just says it is a "Stylized humanoid" plus a few other details. It might look cartoonish, very human like, demonic, geometric, or minimalist. Experiment a little. Come up with something really creepy. It says that the head is a smooth surface all around but does not say anything about what shape the head is; it could be any shape as long as it is smooth. Interpret it however you want.

Although I like the concept I gave I must say that legendaryweredragon is right. Nowhere specifies the details so I guess you can be inspired by your imagination.

Hi, recently I played SCP and suddenly I realised "omg, its just something like a scary version of Toy Story, it really needs better graphics!!". After watching some my mind gave me an idea - why not to use 3d scanning devices to make the game totally realistic? No need to improve graphics, its like 100% - you cant go 146% (if you are not a politician ) - those technoligies are expencive however but you can start a kickstarter (once I read that kickstarter is 10% - skills, 90% - advertisement, but SCP CB is known all over the NET so it wont be a problem) - on some additional money from kickstarter different other people can be hired - for example for making better sound effects or FX - this will throw the game to a whole new level - even such popular horror games as Slenderman, Alien Isolation, Amnesia or Outlast - will be not as good as the Containment Breach in graphics (everything else is almost perfect). By the way, check out the Thorskan project - this is what you can get if you use 3d scanners (aprox price of a good 3d scanner is 15k $, worth the result)

I don't think anyone involved in this is going to want to use any money at all towards it. Those of us who create the content already shell out money for the programs we use, or at the very least spend a shit load of time on the models. 3d scanners also require a lot of refinement to get a good result. What I've seen has someone scan in an object and get a result tht is bumpy, misshapen, and crude. Professional grade scanners could result in high quality models, but they would still need to be retopologized to work in game. The graphics are steadily being improved by various artists on the site.

Money problem - well that's why I said to use kickstarter - I can do this 100% myself - like money for the MOD (not game, cuz I am not an official representative of the SCP CB devteam) + some tutorials on youtube can help with the scanning problem and the "retopoligising" (whatever that actually means) - can be done by different freelancer or some people who want to help me with that 100% realism project

First off, I had to laugh at the comparison of SCP:CB and Toy Story because just because, but I'm also annoyed at this, because for one thing Toy Story's a big budget CGI movie that's been spent millions for and looks far better (albeit cartoonish) than SCP:CB can ever be within an ordinary indie production of game, and another thing, since this IS practically an indie-made game (with little money spent), 3D realism isn't a total priority in this case. It doesn't have to be that every game set in 3D has to look totally realistic as if it's real-life! SCP:CB focuses more on the horror experience itself, NOT on realism, because if they did, surely Unreal Engine or Unity is more preferable right? But they're using Blitz3D, which, as I read, maybe old, but it's easy to use. Yes, there's newer tech, and yes, funding is possible with Kickstarter. But they're not in it for the money or for the latest technology. They just want a great game others would enjoy. And it's fine that way. This isn't a commercial game.

In all simplicity, CB is made by one person, with dozens of other people who want to help out in any way they can. It's not like there's a 16-member dev team always slaving away, which is why I think it's a nice system. Sure, some people don't always deliver, but I feel like there's a real sense of community when I see random members all over helping with coding, modeling, animating, music, voice acting, etc. But throwing like 2k into the mix isn't how I'd change the development of the game. Kickstarters are more often than not, that extra push for projects that are still in its infancy stage. People seem to be under the impression that if you make a kickstarter, whatever you're making it for will come out faster and better. You see that HL3 kickstarter? Yeah, that went down quick.

In all honesty though, if you really want to support the game in that type of way, the better alternative is donating on the website, I'm sure it helps.

Throwing money at a project like this doesn't automatically result in the game being better aesthetically. I prefer the game in the scope that it is in; a neat little hobby project that has found a niche community.
