Yes, I agree. You could grab something from your inventory, and throw it. Of course, this would only work with objects heavy enough. A paper would fly only five centimeters, while a radio could go pretty far. This would add a item management component as well. "Should I throw my S-nav to the other side of the room to distract the MTF? Or should I keep it so that I don't get lost, and make a run for it?" This would make it so that you have more chances of escaping, but at a cost.

Also, flash grenades. I think that there should be a very rare number of them throughout the game. Something that you would only get every few games, and that when you find one, you will keep it until you most need it, because you know its unlikely for you to find another one. Aside from the fact that it will help escape the MTF, it would also force the player to think, since it would also affect them when thrown.

Again, weapons that directly harm the enemies is a huge ass NO!

And this could actually give a use for items like the mastercard and the OP-Batery :)

Honestly, due to the design of the rooms and how it's nearly impossible to bypass the MTFs, flash grenades are actually a good solution. Throw one, blind em, run right past em. If you accidentally have the bomb in your sight though you should end up being blinded too.

And also, use other items in the facility like bottles, books or stuff like that, being picked up like in Amnesia, not just using inventory stuff

I already posted this in the SCP Suggestions thread, but I guess this is also a good place for my suggestion.
People have been talking about ways to safely distract the MTF for a while. The most common idea is to implement rare flash grenades into the game, which I can totally go for.

But SCP-539 (The Perfect Distraction) would be such a useful and cool item to use against the MTF. The player would simply toss the coin and run by everyone as they're sufficiently distracted by a random event caused by the SCP. Of course, the ensuing chaos caused by it would have to be within the game's limits. I doubt a bull shark or a mob of komodo dragons would be easily implemented into the game. So perhaps every time you throw the coin, a simple distraction like a fire alarm or loud noise could occur, catching the MTF's attention.

The only question is, if the MTF AI can hear the clatter of an object you throw and investigate it, what prevents them from hearing your footsteps as you run by? 8)

The distractions caused by SCP-539 prevents others from paying attention to you. Even if it's just a single second, it could save the player's life.

Throwing 539 seems to be an excellent idea! Only question is, what would the distractions be? Certain objects would be too much work to implement, maybe they could be simple yet weird static objects and distracting sirens/alarms.

My idea was posted on the same page, you know.

I figured that maybe the distractions caused by 539 would be easy to implement, like false alarms and other loud noises. And maybe if the player is lucky, it could summon 173 into the room. (Regalis said that in 7.2, the MTF would actually pay attention to 173, so he could make a good summonable distraction.)
