Twisted Polygon wrote:The engine can NOT handle anything as complicated as outlasts first person view. It uses, to my understanding, many combined animations to allow movement and looking animations at the same time, along with well timed actions like button bushing and level pulling synched up with the item animation. In unreal, the animations can be linked together proceduraly, but in Blitz3D, every animation has to be seperate. It wouldnt work well or look good in game, and would be a pain in the ass anyway.
We have our answer now.

Well just arms is way easier.

Yeah, I'd rather have it is as it is now.

Besides, if D-9341 had a arm it would break the realistic switch/lever mechanics where the character has to actually pull down there mouse amnesia style to turn it on.

If anything, the arms should just be included in an Oculus Rift mod, not in the vanilla game.

Which is just as well because Blitz3D can't handle Oculus Rift if I'm not mistaken. And this would be fine as a mod. Having arms in the vanilla game would ruin the immersion for me.

Regalis himself stated that maybe the game will get oculus rift support with some special packages or something. Having arms as a mod or as an option would be the best solution. We have to see if the game will support oculus rift in the future.

I think a mod for this would be good.

I think it would be better as a mod, it would be kinda weird considering the different ranges you can press buttons and pick things up.
