Sorry for double posting... I want people to see this...

Here's my try, in Audacity. With the 087B death sound at the end.

Combine suggested that the music should play, followed by silence, and then the 087B sound would be 096's scream and at the same time, a quick death for the player.

The fact that the scream goes so high bothers me, let's find another good base. We can try playing with the lure subject's cries.

Yeah, it goes kinda too high. Makes my ears hurt at the peak. I think it may need to stop and keep on the same level for the rest of the effect, a plateau.

It can be used, but definitely needs some fixing. I was thinking of less earrape-like and just more long-escalating-horror-like.

Yeah, yeah. It started screaming at us, and crying. Not animal roaring though, sounded exactly like a person.
Make it sound like a human. We need canon submissions to SCP: Containment Breach.

That's why I said try playing with the lure subject's voice.

Yeah, I agree. The lure subject would be an excellent starting point for SCP-096's voice.

I never really thought of the background sound as a ''scream'', i just thought of it as really fucked up sound.

I imagined the effect playing while you see 096 screaming and crying.

Oh, well imagine the abominations we made playing over it, that sounds silly in my head.

That sounds great. It has that kind of "shit's about to hit the fan" -feeling that fits SCP-096 perfectly. Although I think it could be better with a little less distortion. Now it's almost painful to listen to. :)

I like the effect :) It's sort of like a climbing wail, albeit a bit loud though.
