yes, i see your point, but some games just don't work well with talking caracthers and protagonists, some of them just got to be quiet in order to achieve the max potential of the game... Gordon Freeman didn't said a word in all the half life series, and now is onw of the most famous carachters... somethimes to create a good atmosphere... we just need to stay quiet ;)
I don't like Freeman, well, not like, just don't care for him, because he doesn't talk, and doesn't have a personality, I can't care if I don't know what he's like :/

That's the point. It's up to you to know what he's like, so he could basically be you! Only with Gordon Freeman as your name.

Which is something I really don't like, it works better for RPG's, but not for other types of games :(

ok, you don't like non-talking caracters, but imagine the whole SCP CB Experience, or Half Life Series with talking carachters,
it would ruin the experience of the game wouldn't it?

or gordon freeman when fight the antilion guard, "Damn it that thing is huge as crap, fucking hell" it won't sound heroic, it will sound like "i am a pussy!"

One of the best silent characters EVER: Isaac Clarke (Dead Space 1..only in the first one,and who plays knows what I'm talking about.)
Gordon and Isaac..damn,they are fucking awesome!

I LOVE Dead Space..BUT HATED his lack of character, I'm so glad that they finally gave him a speaking role!
