I for one really like the idea of including an animated pair of hands in the game for immersion's sake. Having hands in the game for immersion may sound contradictory to some, but I think it could really serve SCP:CB well on a couple grounds:
- Some complex scenes could be more easily described to the player by using the hands, such as getting caught and strangled by SCP-173 (as discussed in http://scpcbgame.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 376#p27196), or in the case of crawling on the floor as described by BJFowLer. Whether or not these ideas are good, having hands in the game would help convey to the player what is going on in these and other scenarios.
- The scariness of being chased by SCPs could be increased by introducing a delay between when the player initiates a button press, and when the player's hand actually reaches the button, requiring the player to factor in button-pressing time while trying to escape from a bad place.
Very nice work on the hands, btw, sl33pyt1me. That mesh looks perfect!

I am not an animator, so rigging and animating are not strong points of mine. I've been looking up tutorials, and just recently got a decent rig for the mesh.
I should start animating soon, I need to get the skinning just right, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like this.
Thanks for the positive comments on the hands, didn't think my mediocre modeling skills would please so many people

Alright, so I got a decent rig for the arms, but the fingers aren't going to well. I'm thinking about putting this up online so that someone else can rig and animate these hands because I'm having way to much trouble with it.

Alright, so if anyone wants to rig these, here is the file:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7Lvp57 ... sp=sharing (Max file)
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7Lvp57 ... sp=sharing (OBJ file)
I'd like to be the one to animate, seeing as I have a good idea of what I want, but if you want, you can make some animations.
When you are done, send me back the file and I'll texture it.
I will delete the file from google docs after about a week or two. I don't want too many people running around with my workl. This is intended for use only with SCP: Containment Breach, and seeing as I plan on using these hands for my own project, I don't want too many people using this model. I hope you all understand where I'm coming from with this.

Has anyone downloaded the arms? I'll leave them up for a while longer, but I'd like to know if anyone has decided to try to animate them.
thanks
