Cannot even start the game (Barotrauma)

I tried to download the v0.8.2.0 version, which is the most recent one. Every time I try to run the launcher or the game, it tells me to extract the files. Once I do that, it then says the game won’t run, and it doesn’t explain why. Can this be fixed?
