Ok this happened when I tried to load a savegame from the room where the player was first ordered to and the game told you that you can save there.

I loaded from that save and got a black screen though I could hear my footsteps when I tried to move. I couldn't see where to go so I just quit. I tried to search for similar bugs but couldn't find any so I created a new topic.

I also saved the game after navigating the maintenance tunnels and my screen is black. I can hear footsteps and use items but my screen is black. Extremely frustrating game so far - I think its crashed like 100x and now I can't even beat it.

Update: After quitting the game and restarting twice, it appears I am back in the maintenance tunnels. I am not sure why or how, but the save used to just turn into a black screen and now it has back tracked me.

The maintenance tunnels and the forest don't get saved, so the game generates a new version of them when you reload the game. You were lucky when you managed to reload in the tunnels.

Fixing that shouldn't be too complicated.
