[1.1] Balcony guard not shooting [FIXED]

Hi. I have discovered a bug in the intro, which I dont see to have been reported before.
The event: Player refuses to enter 173's containment chamber, and he is designed to termination.
What should happen: Guard faces the player and shoots him.
What happens: Guard enters the shooting position, but stares. He wont shoot regardless of player's position in the room. HOWEVER if the player enables "noclip" and flies a bit up in the air, the guard will shoot as supposed.

Update 2: I took some screenshoots at Regalis' request.

In this one, you can see the guard staring at the player. He wont shoot no mather where I go (as long as I am on the ground).

However, if I noclip and fly up, he will finally start shooting.

npc guard has a shooting range (i think) if you standing at shooting range he will shoot you but if you standing outside the shooting range he can't shoot you

What he is saying, is that the guard won't shoot him no matter what, unless he noclips.


To answer your question, it was probably one of the many broken things about v1.0. It probably broke since no one used it, and it got no care.

His shooting range should cover the floor (not just the air).

However to me, it looks like that platform he stays on blocks his view to the floor down there, thus resulting in an inactive guard.

It may also be the fact that his current position is "optimised" for the old texture, not the new one... I dont know.

Probably. I recall that back in v0.6 if the balcony guard ever tried shooting at you its entire model would tilt through the balcony itself to aim at you. Not sure if that specific bug was ever fixed in later versions, but what most likely happened is when Regalis added the new model in v0.1 he forgot to test/fix the balcony guard.

Actually, any guard on "shooting mode" will tilt to any positiion to have you on their scope (including the balcony guard when going under his platform, but he still wont shoot).
That "platform wall" could be the problem in blocking his sigh.
