This may not be directly because of the game itself, but upon attempting to start it up, I am greeted with a window requiring me to install DirectPlay. I allow it to do so, and it fills the bar, but after at least a minute or two of waiting at that point, it errors and gives me the following window:
Following the Tell me how to solve this problem. link does not help with this exact problem at all. I am on Windows 8.1. If any more information is needed, I can attempt to scour it out.

Booting in safe mode or disabling certain software (such as your antivirus) may help make sure nothing interferes with the DirectPlay installation.

Installing DirectX 9 Redistributable did not work, so.

However, disabling my antivirus's file shield did seem to allow it to install DirectPlay. It works fine now, thank you.
