Oh wow, so I'm not alone on that matter. Wasn't the wait around four or five months? I remember how much the bronies on the rest of the internet were releasing a firestorm every time a release date came out wrong.

Likewise. I think I actually enjoy some of the fan works more than the show itself. But then again, the show had to have existed before to act as the 'spark' like Twilight's Element of Magic. Same with the previous generations: no seaponies, no Smooze, no human companions, no Newborn Cuties, and no Friendship is Magic.

By the way, Equestria Girls is coming out in three days.

It's basically a bunch of pictures set a a story, or storyboard, with an edited version of Gary Jules adaptation of Mad World.

I hated the previous generations, and yes, I've watched them.

Not sure if I'll watch Equestria Girls though, I'd rather the cute little ponies stay cute little ponies - Not humans.
